Cost of education at Rio Hondo College stays the same for all students in 2022-23 school year

Tuition rates for California residents attending Rio Hondo College did not change during the 2022-23 school year, as reported in the most recent disclosure, according to the latest disclosure from the National Center for Education Statistics.

California residents paid $1,388 to attend the public four-year institution in both the 2021-22 and 2022-23 academic years.

Non-resident students were charged 612.1% more than in-state students in 2022-23, amounting to $9,884. This rate was consistent with the 2021-22 school year.

Approximately 99% of the undergraduate population at Rio Hondo College consists of California residents.

Data indicates that 84% of full-time undergraduates who enrolled in 2022-23 received some form of financial aid. A total of 1,109 students were awarded grants or scholarships amounting to $6.1 million, while five students took out loans exceeding $20,046.

Meanwhile, student loan debt has steadily increased over the last 30 years, reaching $1.75 trillion in 2024, averaging a total of $28,950 per borrower. Federal loans make up 92% of the debt, with over half of students at both public and private four-year colleges graduating with student loans.
