Representative Linda Sánchez, who serves California’s 38th district in the U.S. Congress, addressed concerns about a potential government shutdown and expressed support for her constituents in a series of social media posts on October 1, 2025.
In one post, Sánchez wrote, “Shutdowns are disruptive but they’re also avoidable. I’ll keep working to protect our community from the chaos Republicans are creating. Stay informed, stay safe, and know I’m fighting for you.” (October 1, 2025).
She further highlighted concerns regarding the Office of Management and Budget’s response to the possible shutdown. In another post from the same day, she stated, “Even worse, the OMB has circulated a memo threatening massive permanent firings if this shutdown happens. That’s reckless, unnecessary, and completely avoidable.

Later that evening, Sánchez extended well wishes to those observing Yom Kippur: “Wishing an easy and meaningful fast to all observing Yom Kippur. May this day bring reflection, peace, and renewal.” (October 1, 2025).
