Rep. Linda Sánchez, who has represented California’s 38th district in the U.S. Congress since 2003, posted a series of tweets on April 16, 2026, criticizing recent actions by political figures and highlighting public health concerns.
In one post from April 16, Sánchez commented on Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s refusal to address whether former President Trump had authorized cuts to pro-vaccine public health campaigns. She wrote: “RFK Jr. refused to answer if Trump authorized cutting pro-vaccine public health campaigns, wasting taxpayer funds to film himself with Kid Rock in a hot tub instead. We need real leadership, not whatever the hell this is.”
Later that day, Sánchez addressed ongoing military action in Iran under Trump’s administration. In her tweet dated April 16, she stated: “Trump’s illegal war in Iran is driving up gas prices and putting American lives at risk. I just voted to end it. Republicans voted to continue it. Remember their vote next time you fill up your tank.”
In another message posted on April 16, Sánchez discussed the rise in measles cases and the importance of vaccines amid RFK Jr.’s leadership: “The numbers are clear: vaccines work. Yet under RFK Jr.’s leadership, we’re seeing measles cases surge to levels not seen since the vaccine was introduced. That should alarm all of us. We need to trust the science and follow the facts.”
Sánchez has been an active member of Congress for over two decades after succeeding Steve Horn in 2003 and currently resides in Whittier, California.
She was born in Orange, California in 1969 and is an alumna of both UC Berkeley (BA) and UCLA (JD).
