U.S. Representative Linda Sánchez, who has represented California’s 38th district since 2003, recently used her social media platform to criticize former President Donald Trump’s healthcare policies and the ongoing government shutdown.
On October 6, 2025, Sánchez posted: “Trump’s changes mean 38,000 ACA enrollees in CA’s 38th District will see premiums double. People are already struggling—this is the last thing they need.”
The following day, on October 7, she continued her criticism of the Trump administration with another post: “The Trump administration is weaponizing the shutdown to steal Americans’ health care and deny federal workers their pay — Americans see through it.”
Later that same day, Sánchez addressed the ongoing political debate over responsibility for the government shutdown: “Day 7 of the shutdown, and Republicans are still blaming Democrats. Let’s be clear: this shutdown is about protecting healthcare for Americans while Republicans are fighting to give handouts to their billionaire buddies.”
Sánchez was born in Orange, California in 1969 and currently resides in Whittier. She holds a BA from the University of California, Berkeley (1991) and a JD from UCLA (1995). Since taking office after Steve Horn in 2003, she has been an advocate for issues affecting her district.
