Representative Linda Sánchez, who serves California’s 38th district in the U.S. Congress, recently commented on several labor and legislative developments through her social media posts.
On April 30, 2026, Sánchez addressed an agreement in Little Lake that impacts local educators and students. She wrote, “I’m glad to see a tentative agreement reached in Little Lake, bringing educators back to the classroom and stability for our students. This is a step in the right direction.”
Later that day, she discussed recent funding negotiations regarding Homeland Security. On April 30, 2026, she stated: “This is a win! After holding Homeland Security funding hostage for more than a month, House Republicans finally caved, and Democrats passed funding for DHS – without giving a single dime to ICE. I won’t stop fighting until we rein in ICE and end their abuses.”
On May 1, 2026—International Workers Day—Sánchez posted about union rights and workplace conditions: “Union representation means higher wages, better benefits, safer working conditions, and a path to the middle class. Today and everyday, I’m proud to join my @Labor_Caucus colleagues in fighting to pass the #PROAct and protect the right to organize. #InternationalWorkersDay”
Sánchez has represented California’s 38th District since 2003 after succeeding Steve Horn. Born in Orange, California in 1969 and currently residing in Whittier at age 54, she holds degrees from UC Berkeley (BA) and UCLA (JD).
