Rep. Linda Sánchez, who represents California’s 38th district in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted her legislative and community activities on social media.
On April 13, Sánchez posted about a funding initiative for public recreation: “Everyone deserves access to their local park. Proud to have secured $500,000 to expand parking at Holifield Park in @CityofNorwalkCA so more families can get outside and enjoy the park together.”
Two days later, on April 15, she shared her participation in a leadership event focused on Latino communities: “As a proud Member of Congress—and an even prouder Latina—I was honored to join @NALEO’s Listening Series in SELA .
It’s our job as Latino leaders to ensure our communities are heard, represented, and uplifted as we keep fighting for opportunity and equity for every family.”
Later that same day, Sánchez commented on educational access regardless of immigration status: “That man is batshit crazy. Every child deserves access to education, no matter their immigration status.
The Supreme Court made that clear with Plyler v. Doe, and that principle still holds today.”
Sánchez has served as the congressional representative for California’s 38th District since 2003 after succeeding Steve Horn. She was born in Orange, California in 1969 and currently resides in Whittier. Sánchez earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1991 and received her law degree from UCLA in 1995.
