Linda Sánchez, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 38th district since 2003, has been vocal on several key issues through her recent social media posts. On March 14, 2025, she addressed concerns regarding government funding and social security.

In a tweet posted on March 14, 2025, Sánchez expressed her opposition to the GOP’s Continuing Resolution (CR), which she claims “harms seniors, Veterans, and working families” while advancing Trump’s agenda. She joined over 60 Democrats in urging Senator Schumer to reject this proposal and advocated for “a clean 30-day bill to keep the government open while we negotiate a bipartisan solution.” “I joined @RepDerekTranCA and over 60 Democrats to call on @SenSchumer to reject the GOP’s CR. It harms seniors, Veterans, and working families, while empowering Trump’s agenda. We need a clean 30-day bill to keep the government open while we negotiate a bipartisan solution.”

Later that day at around 20:23 UTC, Sánchez tweeted about potential cuts to Social Security benefits. She emphasized that Americans would not accept reductions in their earned benefits and called upon Acting Commissioner Dudek to uphold legal standards against what she described as DOGE’s attacks on the Social Security Administration. “Americans won’t tolerate cuts to their earned Social Security benefits in any form. @WaysMeansCmte Democrats are demanding Acting Commissioner Dudek stand up for the rule of law and reject DOGE’s attacks on the Social Security Administration.”

In another post from March 14 at approximately 23:05 UTC, Sánchez conveyed her frustration with a Senate vote but assured her followers that efforts would continue against what she termed as illegal actions by the Trump administration concerning federal employees’ dismissals and Congressional spending authority. She declared this was just the beginning of their fight.“Like so many of you, I’m furious about the Senate vote – but our fight is far from over! We will continue to push to stop the Trump administration’s illegal firings of federal employees and defend Congress’ authority over federal spending. This is just the beginning.”
