Rep. Linda Sánchez, who has represented California’s 38th district in the U.S. Congress since 2003, addressed multiple issues on her Twitter account on January 27, 2026.
In a post at 18:59 UTC, Sánchez stated, “I sent @SecNoem a letter in June regarding a U.S. citizen in my district arrested in Pico Rivera. DHS says he ‘assaulted’ an agent, yet key questions about procedure, oversight, and accountability go unanswered.” The congresswoman’s comments reference concerns about transparency and due process involving the Department of Homeland Security after the arrest of a constituent.
Later that day, Sánchez recognized International Holocaust Remembrance Day. At 21:56 UTC she posted, “On International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we honor the 6 million Jews murdered in the Holocaust and the millions targeted by hate. We remember the lives lost and recommit ourselves to confronting antisemitism, hatred, and injustice wherever they appear.”
Shortly after, at 22:17 UTC, Sánchez addressed immigration enforcement actions in her district: “As ICE continues to terrorize our communities, my office is here to provide support. I want to hear directly from you at my telephone town hall this Thursday, January 29th, at 7 pm PT. Registration is required to receive a call.

Sánchez was born in Orange, California in 1969 and currently resides in Whittier. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1991 and later obtained her law degree from UCLA in 1995. As one of California’s congressional representatives for over two decades—having succeeded Steve Horn—she has frequently spoken out on matters affecting her district’s constituents as well as broader social justice issues.
