Rep. Linda Sánchez, U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 38th district since 2003, has recently addressed several issues on her social media platform, ranging from immigration enforcement to Supreme Court decisions and food assistance policies.
On April 28, Sánchez posted about an incident involving Immigration and Customs Enforcement at a local hospital: “When ICE entered a hospital that serves my district, patients avoided care, and public health suffered. Today, I called on that hospital’s CEO to have a clear plan that protects patients if ICE shows up again.”
A day later, on April 29, she commented on a recent Supreme Court ruling: “SCOTUS’s decision strips away decades of civil rights progress. This creates a dangerous precedent and threatens to silence communities of color.”
On April 30, Sánchez highlighted her support for food access in the Farm Bill: “I voted for an amendment in the Farm Bill to ensure families can use SNAP to buy rotisserie chicken, because no one should be denied from a simple, healthy meal.”
Sánchez was born in Orange, California in 1969 and currently resides in Whittier. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1991 and her law degree from UCLA in 1995.
