Rep. Linda Sánchez, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 38th district since 2003, used her social media platform to criticize Republican leadership and former President Donald Trump in a series of posts on April 7 and 8, 2026.

On April 7, Sánchez addressed Speaker Mike Johnson directly regarding the congressional recess, writing: “@SpeakerJohnson, the president is threatening to wipe out an entire civilization tonight, and you have Congress on recess. Bring us back immediately so we can end this madness!”

In another post from the same day, she made strong accusations against Trump and Congressional Republicans: “Trump has lost his fucking mind and is calling for genocide. He’s threatening the lives of millions of innocent Iranians.

If Republicans do not help us remove him from office, they are complicit in his war crimes.

He must be impeached and removed now! https://t.co/t7GpS2uRKu

The following day, Sánchez commented on Democratic efforts to protect voting rights amid legislative challenges: “Democrats won’t let Trump rob you of your right to vote.

Today in LA, we held a hearing to challenge the so-called SAVE America Act and fight this blatant attack on our democracy. https://t.co/DiNBHAKXHx

Sánchez was born in Orange, California in 1969 and currently resides in Whittier. She holds a BA from the University of California, Berkeley (1991) and a JD from UCLA (1995). She succeeded Steve Horn as representative for California’s 38th district over two decades ago.
