Rep. Linda Sánchez, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 38th district since 2003, has recently voiced her positions on national issues through a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter).
On November 7, Sánchez commented on former President Donald Trump’s legal actions related to humanitarian aid, stating, “Only Trump would appeal a court order to feed hungry people.”
Three days later, on November 10, she addressed ongoing health care negotiations in the Senate. In her post she wrote, “The Senate’s deal does nothing to protect Americans’ health care. Instead of lowering costs or expanding access, it leaves families paying the price.
House Democrats will keep fighting for affordable, quality care for everyone. I’ll stand my ground and vote NO.”
Later that day, Sánchez responded to a Supreme Court ruling on same-sex marriage: “In a time when our democracy and rights are under attack, today’s Supreme Court decision protecting same-sex marriage is a reminder: we must keep fighting for equality and defend the freedoms that others try to roll back.”
Sánchez was born in Orange, California in 1969 and currently resides in Whittier. She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1991 and earned her Juris Doctor from UCLA in 1995.
