Rep. Linda Sánchez, a member of Congress representing California’s 38th district since 2003, has used her social media platform to criticize recent Republican policies and highlight concerns about health care, taxation, and trade.
On October 16, 2025, Sánchez posted: “Our government is shut down bc Republicans refuse to deliver health care for Americans.
Meanwhile, a year of ACA tax credits for working families costs a fraction of Trump’s $40B bailout of Argentina
Aid for Argentina over Americans’ health? How is that ‘America First’?”
The following day, on October 17, she shared poll results regarding public opinion on debt reduction strategies: “63% of Americans say the best way to reduce the debt is to tax the rich.
Not by cutting Medicare.
Not by gutting Medicaid.
Making billionaires pay their fair share — that’s how we build an economy that works for everyone.”
Later that same day, Sánchez addressed the impact of tariffs on consumer prices: “If even IKEA can’t keep prices down, you know these tariffs are a problem.
Families shouldn’t have to pay more for furniture because of Trump’s reckless trade policies.”
Sánchez has represented her Southern California district in Congress since succeeding Steve Horn in 2003. Born in Orange, California in 1969 and currently residing in Whittier, Sánchez holds degrees from the University of California, Berkeley (BA) and UCLA (JD). Her recent posts reflect ongoing debates in Congress regarding budget priorities and economic policy as well as concerns about international aid versus domestic spending priorities.
