Rep. Linda Sánchez, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 38th district since 2003, criticized recent legislative developments in a series of posts on November 13, 2025. In her tweets, Sánchez voiced concerns about the impact of a government funding bill and its provisions related to health care costs and tariffs.
On November 13, Sánchez stated, “While reopening the government is important, this bill gives Republicans exactly what they wanted: higher health care costs and a green light to continue Trump’s tariffs, which are driving up prices on everyday goods.”
She further elaborated on the economic challenges facing her constituents in another post from the same day: “My constituents are already struggling with rising health care premiums and grocery costs driven by Trump’s reckless tariffs. I refused to gamble their family budgets on a flimsy promise by the Senate to address these issues later — especially when Speaker Johnson has offered no”
Sánchez also described efforts she led within her party to counteract these policies. On November 13, she wrote: “That’s why I led 11 fellow Democrats in introducing an amendment to block these tariffs. But instead of allowing a vote, Republicans on the Rules Committee adjourned to protect Trump’s unchecked power over trade policy.
