Rep. Linda Sánchez, U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 38th district since 2003, recently shared updates on her community engagement and federal funding efforts through a series of social media posts.
On May 16, Sánchez highlighted her participation in a local event, stating, “Great spending time at the Downey Street Faire! It was nice getting to talk with community members at our booth and seeing so many local small businesses out connecting with residents.”
Later that day, she announced new federal support for internet access in Whittier: “I’m proud to have secured $250K in federal funding for @WhittierCityGov to expand internet access across Whittier. This investment will help connect more students, families, and small businesses to the opportunities they need.”
On May 18, Sánchez attended another community event focused on inclusivity. She wrote, “Really glad I could stop by @CityofDowney’s Special Needs Awareness and Resources Fair. It was great meeting Special Olympics Southern California athletes from Long Beach and hearing their stories. Thank you to everyone working to build a more inclusive community.”
Sánchez has represented California’s 38th District in Congress since 2003 after succeeding Steve Horn. Born in Orange, California in 1969 and currently residing in Whittier, Sánchez holds degrees from the University of California, Berkeley (BA) and UCLA (JD).
