As 2025 ended and 2026 began, Rep. Linda Sánchez used her social media platform to reflect on the past year and share her hopes for the future. Sánchez, who has represented California’s 38th congressional district since 2003 after succeeding Steve Horn, posted a series of messages addressing both constituents and international issues.
On December 31, 2025, Sánchez wrote: “As 2025 comes to a close, I want to take a moment to reflect on the year. From milestones achieved to challenges overcome, I’m grateful for everyone who made this year so meaningful.
Here’s to looking back at our accomplishments and forward to an even brighter 2026! https://t.co/qrJmjQDlMX“
The following day, she marked the start of the new year with another message: “Happy New Year! I’m excited to welcome 2026 and all the opportunities it will bring. Wishing everyone a year full of growth, new experiences, and time spent with the people who matter most. https://t.co/r4Pznzgda2” (January 1, 2026).
On January 3, Sánchez addressed foreign policy concerns in Latin America: “There is no question that Nicolás Maduro is a dictator who has brutalized his people and dismantled Venezuelan democracy. The Venezuelan people deserve freedom, self-determination and the rule of law – just as all people do.
But the Constitution is clear: the power to authorize”.
Linda Sánchez was born in Orange, California in 1969 and currently lives in Whittier. She earned her BA from University of California, Berkeley in 1991 before completing her JD at UCLA in 1995. Throughout more than two decades in Congress representing southern California’s District 38 [source], she has periodically commented on both domestic milestones and international affairs.
