Rep. Linda Sánchez, U.S. Congresswoman for California’s 38th district, shared updates on recent community events and personal reflections through a series of posts on her official Twitter account in early May 2026.

On May 8, Sánchez thanked local organizations for their role in regional celebrations, posting: “Thank you to the La Mirada Chamber of Commerce for hosting a fantastic Cinco de Mayo celebration!

I enjoyed connecting with members of our community and celebrating the rich culture and traditions that strengthen our region.”

Later that day, she recognized student achievements in an annual art competition. Her tweet stated: “This year’s Art Competition was truly one to remember! Thank you to every student who participated and to everyone who helped make this event possible.

Congratulations to this year’s winner, Maria Varquez, whose piece “Merkado” will represent our district in Washington. I can’t”

On May 10, Sánchez addressed families for Mother’s Day with a personal message: “Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible moms, grandmothers, caregivers, and mother figures who lead with love and strength every day.

Being a mom is one of the greatest joys of my life, and I’m forever grateful for every moment with my son. Wishing everyone a beautiful”

Sánchez has served as representative since 2003 after succeeding Steve Horn in California’s 38th district. She was born in Orange, California in 1969 and currently resides in Whittier at age 54. Her academic background includes a BA from the University of California, Berkeley (1991) and a JD from UCLA (1995).
