WASHINGTON – On June 1, Congresswoman Linda T. Sánchez (D-CA) released the following statement celebrating the start of Pride Month. As a Vice Chair of the Congressional Equality Caucus, Congresswoman Sánchez supports the Congressional Equality Caucus’ mission to promote equality for all people regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or sex characteristics.

“I want to wish a happy Pride Month to the LGBTQI+ community in my district and across the country. Pride is a wonderful time of year to celebrate and honor LGBTQI+ people, history, and culture,” said Congresswoman Sánchez. “This year, as we celebrate Pride, we must also think about the extreme MAGA politicians and state legislatures actively trying to advance hateful and anti-equality legislation throughout the United States. I joined the Congressional Equality Caucus because I believe LGBTQI+ people deserve to live freely as their authentic selves and deserve full legal equality in the U.S. and around the world. I will continue to fight to protect LGBTQ+ Americans right to love and be who they are.”
