She stated, "Foreign manufacturers are gutting U.S. retail by flooding the market with cheap goods using a loophole in our trade laws called de minimis. My bill would put an end to it once and for all, leveling the playing field for American brands."
The following day, March 19, she discussed her interactions with local officials regarding budget impacts attributed to policies linked to prominent figures like Trump and Musk. She tweeted, "Had productive roundtables with mayors, local officials, and higher education leaders to hear firsthand how the Trump-Musk chaos is impacting their budgets. Together, we’re strategizing to protect Southern California's funding and fight back against these harmful cuts."
On March 20, Sánchez criticized proposals related to dismantling the Department of Education as financially motivated schemes benefiting wealthy individuals at the expense of students. Her statement was clear: "Dismantling the Department of Education is a blatant scheme to rob our students to pay for more tax cuts for billionaires like Elon Musk and Donald Trump. Democrats will fight this!"
